Residential Treatment

Structured, Person-Centered Care in a Home-Like Setting

Bridging the Gap Between Hospital and Independence

Beacon Recovery Residence operates as a Residential Treatment Home (RTH) under OAR 309-035 — providing 24-hour structured residential care for up to five adults with serious and persistent mental illness in Aloha, Oregon.

Our residential program serves adults who require more support than outpatient services can provide, but do not require the intensity of inpatient hospitalization. Beacon fills this critical gap — providing psychiatric oversight, behavioral support, and individualized care in a safe, structured, community-integrated home environment.

What Does Residential Treatment Look Like?

Daily Structure & Routine

A consistent daily schedule provides residents with the structure and predictability that supports psychiatric stability and recovery — including medication administration, structured meals, life skills coaching, recreational activities, community outings, and personal autonomy periods.

On-Site Psychiatric Services

Beacon's designated PMHNP provides regular on-site psychiatric check-ins, medication reviews, and clinical assessments — coordinating with each resident's external outpatient treatment team for full continuity of psychiatric care.

Residential Service Plan (RSP)

Each resident's RSP is developed within the first days of admission and updated throughout their stay — co-created with the resident, CMHP coordinator, and outpatient team to capture goals, preferences, strengths, and individualized supports.

Crisis Prevention & Response

Staff are trained in proactive crisis prevention and de-escalation techniques. The program maintains clear crisis protocols and 24-hour on-call clinical support — utilizing least-restrictive, trauma-informed approaches at every level.

Skill Building & Independence

From meal preparation and budgeting to community navigation and self-care routines, residents build practical daily living skills throughout their stay — creating a foundation for stability well beyond Beacon.

Discharge & Transition Planning

Transition planning begins at admission. Beacon works with residents, CMHPs, and outpatient providers to develop individualized discharge plans supporting successful moves to independent housing, supported housing, or another level of care.
